Getting Started

Choosing an account type

When you sign up, you pick one of three account types. This isn’t just cosmetic - it changes your onboarding checklist and where you land after registering.

  • Solo - you’re running outreach yourself. After signup you land on Connections.
  • Company - you and a team. After signup you land on Members, so you can invite people first.
  • Agency - you run outreach for clients. After signup you land on Workspaces. Each client gets their own isolated workspace (its own contacts, campaigns, sender identities); you switch between them with the workspace switcher in the sidebar.

Agency accounts can’t be changed to solo/company later without support’s help, since the data model is different (client workspaces vs. a single company). Pick based on how you actually work, not what sounds bigger.

The setup checklist

Every account gets a setup checklist on the Overview page. It’s server-driven - Konvox actually checks whether you’ve done each step, it’s not just a static list. The steps differ by account type:

Solo

  1. Connect an outreach account (LinkedIn, email, or social)
  2. Add a sender email
  3. Import your contacts
  4. Build an ICP profile
  5. Create your AI assistant
  6. Launch your first campaign

Company

  1. Invite your team
  2. Connect an outreach account
  3. Add a sender email
  4. Configure your AI assistant
  5. Import your contacts
  6. Launch your first campaign

Agency

  1. Create your first client workspace
  2. Connect client accounts
  3. Import client contacts
  4. Configure AI assistant
  5. Launch campaign for client

You don’t have to follow this order exactly, but campaigns can’t actually send until you have a working sender and at least one contact - see Sending & Deliverability for why.

The AI Setup Guide (fastest path)

Instead of clicking through each step manually, you can talk to the built-in AI assistant and have it do most of the setup for you: it asks for your website, drafts a full ICP from it (industries, job titles, company size, pain point) in one pass instead of a long Q&A, helps you pick or create a sender, and can create your first campaign and import contacts, all from one conversation. It’s reachable from the floating assistant widget on any dashboard page, or from Setup Guide in the sidebar.

On Growth and Scale plans, the assistant will offer to go deeper on your ICP with a full 12-point interview (decision-maker, anti-ICP, signals/triggers, deal economics) instead of the fast draft-from-website version. You can always ask for this yourself too.

You already have a working sender

You don’t need to configure anything to send your first email. Every new account gets a working sender address the moment you sign up: {yourcompany}.send.konvox.io, already verified and ready to send. You can replace it later with your own domain or a connected Google/Microsoft mailbox - see Sending & Deliverability.

Simple vs. Pro sidebar

New solo and company signups default to a Simple sidebar: 6 destinations plus your setup-progress card. Agencies and any account that existed before this feature shipped default to Pro: the full sidebar with every section (Audience, AI & Messaging, Channels, Workspace, Developer). You can switch between them any time from the sidebar - your preference is saved per-user, not per-account, so teammates can each pick their own.
